Sustainability information
Here you'll find details of the range of contents we send out in our kits. We put a great deal of thought into our kit contents to try and keep the environmental impact as low as possible. We're always looking for ways to improve and welcome your suggestions!

100% sustainable boxes: Plastic free, printed in the UK, made with water-based inks.
Please re-use if possible, then recycle.
Wool pots
A biodegradable, environmentally friendly and sustainable alternative to plastic plant pots made from 100% sheep wool. The wool is obtained when UK farmers shear their sheep and helps reduce the mountain of unwanted wool in the UK.
Designed to break down once they’ve done their job. Simply follow our instruction guides and when your plant is large enough, simply dig a hole (in a larger pot or the ground) and pop the whole pot in. It will slowly turn into delicious bio rich food, whilst protecting your plant from slugs and helping retain water.
Root pouches
Made out of recycled water bottles and natural fibres preventing plastic from going to landfills and oceans.
The pouches can be placed in laundry bags and put into the washing machine on a cold cycle with laundry soap that does not contain fabric softener.
If, after much use, the pot breaks, it must be disposed of in household waste. Its carbon footprint is a fraction of the
footprint of a plastic pot.

Starch-lined and 100% plastic-free. These pouches are industrially compostable so please place in your food waste bin or check your council’s guidelines.
Leaflets
Printed in the UK on FSC-certified paper by a printing company that is part of a carbon capture scheme. For every tonne of paper they buy, they pay a fee re plant native woodland and help offset the carbon produced by the paper-making process. Please remove staples and recycle.
Coir compost
Made from coconut husk, a waste product, coir compost is a peat-free and more sustainable option than many alternatives.
Once you’ve used your coir compost for growing crops, its often possible to re-use at least some of it! If you combine the used coir with Carbon Gold Compost Rejuvenator, your compost can be re-used for up to 5 years!
